About Us
Kataluna Horse Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization created in September of 2018 that is dedicated towards saving the slaughter bound, or any horse in need, to give them a second chance at life. We vow to help any animal reaching out for help, however focus specifically on freedom from feedlots for horses awaiting their last days before shipping to Mexico or Canada for meat consumption purposes. We take in horses from all over the country but mainly out of the Pacific Northwest where our 'home base' is located. Horses that come into Kataluna vary from all shapes, sizes, some who simply end up at the wrong place at the wrong time, and others who may need more immediate or urgent medical attention as well as hospice cases.
