About Us
Leavenworth County Humane Society, Inc., originally founded in 1885, may be the oldest humane society in the state of Kansas. We are the only organization working to build and operate a 21st century no-kill pet animal shelter to serve all Leavenworth County residents. We never turn away found pets from outside city limits in our county, and are contracted to serve the cities of Basehor, Lansing and Linwood. With a small staff of 6 and dozens of dedicated volunteers, we maintain a live outcome rate above 98%. Our motto is "Let's Go Home."Find Us
