About Us
We are a dog rescue focused on the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Indian Reservations in South Dakotaand the nearby border towns. At LightShine Canine we bring the heart of the Lakota and the needs of the dogs together. Our goal is to rescue stray, abandoned, injured or abused dogs on the Pine Ridge Reservation with the help of Lakota youth and adults working on sobriety...and to find these dogs forever homes. Our adoption fees help us continue to do this and to provide community outreach to Tribal members in the form of dog food, vaccines and spay/neuter.
