Pet Peace of Mind is offered to Mercy Hospice patients and is provided at no cost and supported through grants from Purina, Mercy Women with a Mission and individuals. If there is a financial need, we help with food, litter, veterinary services, medications and grooming or boarding. If there is not a plan for the pet to stay with family or friends after the patients passing, we will also help with rehoming. Knowing their pet will be cared for after they are gone brings an extra level of peace and also lightens the burden on shelters as this is one of the top reasons why pets are relinquished.
