The Midlands Humane Society (MHS) opened its doors in 2015 and serve as the first and only humane society in the city of Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County. Our Mission is "To protect and nurture companion animals and enrich the lives of people who love them." During our first 6 years, over 12,000 pets have been adopted into loving homes or reunited with owners. While we primarily adopt out cats, dogs, kittens and puppies, we also often adopt out small animals such as hamsters, rabbits, birds and guinea pigs.
