About Us

MHIY is a 100% volunteer run rescue. We work hard to educate the community about proper animal care as well as making the right adoption choice for each families individual lifestyle. Animals in our care include Chinchillas, Degu, Prairie Dogs, Sugar Gliders, Hedgehogs, Rabbits, Guinea pigs, Hamsters and Gerbils. Animals come to us from various situations, most get spayed/neutered and then adopted to matching families. We have a meet and greet to insure the animals like the humans as much as the human likes the animals - it is a beautiful thing to see the bond begin right before our eyes....soon after, the pictures flood in and we know our adopted little heart has now found big love.
