About Us
North Beach PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare Society) was established in 2002 when the organization’s founder and other animal lovers sought ways to make a difference in the lives of local pets. Our mission is to save and enhance the lives unwanted dogs and cats by providing appropriate shelter and care, and ultimately finding them suitable forever homes.
We are a 100% volunteer, no kill organization committed to saving and enhancing the lives of homeless and unwanted cats and dogs. We provide a shelter facility or foster care until adoptive homes can be found. We strongly promote the spay and neuter of dogs and cats to reduce the number of unwanted animals, and sponsor a voucher program that covers the cost of spay/neuter, including core vaccinations, of the pets of residents who cannot afford to have this done. We promote responsible pet guardianship in all ways possible.
We are funded through individual donations, grants, fundraising events, and weekly thrift store sales.
