About Us
The Erie Humane Society is an independent, registered 501-c3 nonprofit, local, no-kill animal shelter. We help orphaned, injured, and abused pets by focusing our efforts on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming; keeping them safe, providing shelter, care and nutrition, and helping them lead happy, healthy lives. We pride ourselves as a Fear Free Shelter, incorporating best practices from the Fear Free Shelter Program, to actively reduce fear, anxiety, and stress an animal may experience in a shelter environment.
Our mission is to...
RESCUE: To provide temporary shelter, veterinary care, and rehabilitation services for needy, domesticated pets in our community.
REHABILITATE: To provide emotional and physical rehabilitation services to help prepare pets for their next chapter in life.
REHOME: To provide responsible adoption services through application, home visits, and offering additional training services & counseling.
