Paws Animal Welfare Society, Inc. (PAWS) was founded in 2008. We are a 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to rescuing homeless cats and kittens that need to be surrendered. Our no-kill all volunteer shelter is located in Fort Kent, Maine in the picturesque St. John Valley bordering Canada. PAWS mission is to reduce the number unwanted cats and kittens and to raise the consciousness of the community on responsible pet care in the St. John Valley communities. To this end, we take homeless and abandoned cats, provide them with necessary medical care including spay/neuter, vaccinations and find suitable homes for them.
