About Us

Refuge Farms, Inc. is a twenty-five year old horse rescue & sanctuary serving the "dier" horses. A "dier" horse is a crippled, diseased, overworked, elderly, or emotionally unbalanced horse that has no other option but the kill pens. We bring the "diers" to Refuge Farms and give them each four promises: safety and respect, food, a home until their end-of-life, and medical treatment to help restore their bodies and their spirits. Once a Sanctuary horse crosses The Rainbow Bridge, the horse is buried here on Refuge Farms grounds. We use these Sanctuary horses in our "Horses Helping . . .
