About Us

Rising Phoenix Thoroughbred Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to giving Thoroughbred horses a second chance through rescue, rehabilitation, responsible care, and renewed purpose. We provide a safe landing for horses facing neglect, abandonment, displacement, or uncertain futures, helping them recover physically and emotionally while preparing them for meaningful lives beyond their previous circumstances. Our mission also extends to people. Through our Recovery Through Connection program, rescued horses become partners in meaningful, hands-on experiences for individuals recovering from addiction, trauma, and mental health challenges. These interactions create opportunities to build trust, confidence, communication, emotional awareness, responsibility, and connection. Here, we believe that horses who have been given a second chance can play a powerful role in helping people find theirs. Second chances for horses. Second chances for people. A chance to rise again.
