About Us
Rockbird Refuge is a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing lifelong sanctuary for pigeons and other birds in need. While pigeons are at the heart of our mission, we also care for doves, small parrots and other hookbills, domestic birds, and certain legal non-native wild birds when appropriate. Many of the birds we receive have been abandoned, injured, neglected, or can no longer be cared for by their owners. We believe every bird deserves compassion, safety, and the opportunity to live a healthy, enriched life. Whenever it is in a bird's best interest, we work to find loving, permanent homes.
