About Us

The phrase "Second Chance" about says it all. Our adoptable animals come to us from our local animal shelter, Alachua County Animal Services, and each of them were slated to be euthanized for one reason or another. We reserve space in our program for animals that are from our county shelter, that would not have a chance for adoption if we did take them in. We also strive to promote responsible pet ownership through education and example. Anyone interested in adopting a new pet from Second Chance will be asked to complete an application. This allows us to better ensure that the animal of interest is exactly what you're looking for, and vice versa. There are no "right or wrong" answers ... our goal is solely to ensure that everyone ends up happy. We thank you in advance for your time.
