About Us

Standish Humane is an all-cat, no-kill shelter located in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2019, we’re proud to have been a partner in finding homes for thousands of cats over the years. Consistent with SHS guidelines, cats that suddenly find themselves homeless due to owner relocation, death or any inability to care for them are welcome as part of our surrender program. We also accept lost, abandoned or stray cats and, when space is available, take cats from other shelters and sometimes other states. Every cat that comes to Standish is fully vetted and treated, spayed or neutered and socialized so that we can advise prospective adopters about their personality...
