About Us
The Animal Care Shelter for Kent County (ACSKC) has served the homeless animals of Kent County, Maryland since 1962. We are an open admission shelter, meaning we take in every domesticated animal in need from our county. This includes cats and dogs, guinea pigs and pot-bellied pigs! We do not euthanize animals based on breed, for space, or length of stay. Our mission is to care for all of our animals until they’re home. As Kent County’s only animal shelter, we care for hundreds of animals each year with the mindset that each and every single adoptable pet will receive food, shelter, medical attention and love until they’ve found their forever home. We also focus on progressive programs that strengthen our community through our food pantry, lost and found services, rehoming support services and more.Find Us
