About Us
TARA rescues and finds loving homes for abandoned and abused companion and farm animals and offers sanctuary to those who have special needs and can sometimes be more difficult to adopt out. Our animals come from a variety of backgrounds, from homeless strays and ferals to rescues from high kill shelters and hoarding situations. Wherever we see an animal in need, we help. Located at Rancho Providencia, a peaceful, four-acre ranch in Chatsworth, CA, TARA is a haven for goats, horses, donkeys, parrots and geese, cats and dogs. We also work with people through our Senior 2 Senior program. Especially during the challenges of COVID our senior citizens are left feeling isolated. TARA matches senior pets with seniors citizens and provides pet food, health services and transportation for our pets. TARA provides educational, hands on opportunities through visits to the Ranch. We have recently hosted a service organization providing day care to high functioning autistic young adults.Find Us
