About Us
The Wisconsin Humane Society is a private nonprofit organization whose mission is to make a difference for animals and the people who love them. Founded in 1879, we now operate animal shelters in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Door, Brown, and Kenosha Counties, as well as a spay/neuter clinic in West Allis and a Wildlife Hospital in Milwaukee. We annually serve more than 40,000 animals and their families, receive no general government funding, and are not part of any national umbrella organization.
