About Us
The Toledo Humane Society leads the community in efforts focused on relieving the suffering of, preventing cruelty to, and providing for the humane treatment of animals. THS is the state’s oldest animal welfare organization, serving the Toledo area since 1884, and we care for nearly 5,000 animals each year through our life-saving programs and services! The Toledo Humane Society is also the only animal welfare organization in Lucas County that can prosecute individuals for animal cruelty, and THS investigates over 2,000 animal cruelty reports every year.
