About Us
The Tri-Lakes Humane Society (TLHS) is located in Saranac Lake, NY, in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. As a non-profit, no-kill shelter, our mission is to provide shelter to all stray and unwanted companion and domestic animals and to save little lives, and to speak for those who cannot. We work to educate the public about proper animal care and provide financial aid vouchers to those who would not otherwise be able to afford to spay/neuter their pets. Our Humane Society also provides Animal/Dog Control Services, and our Animal Control Officer assists local and state law enforcement. We are a cornerstone institution serving the communities of Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, and Lake Placid since 1942. Through outreach and community service, we educate the people of our communities about proper animal care, spaying and neutering, providing adequate outdoor housing and food and water, as well as veterinarian care.
