About Us

Virginia Farm Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in central Virginia providing lifelong, compassionate care to rescued farm animals. Our residents include donkeys, goats, sheep, llamas, cows, pigs, chickens, and other barnyard companions who can no longer remain in their homes due to illness, aging owners, financial hardship, or the loss of a companion. While some arrive needing medical care, farrier work, or rehabilitation, all find the same thing here: safety, stability, and a peaceful forever home. We focus on individualized care, proper nutrition, veterinary and hoof care, enrichment, and creating a low-stress environment that honors each animal’s natural behaviors. Every donation helps us provide hay, feed, shelter, medical treatment, and the daily care that allows our residents to live out their lives with dignity, comfort, and love.
