Watermelon Mountain Ranch Animal Center (WMRAC), founded in 1996, is dedicated to fostering the animal-human bond. WMRAC has helped to save the lives of overe 175,000 animals since the gates were first opened. Sophia and Lee DiClemente along with dedicated volunteers started WMRAC after seeing the absolute need for a no kill animal shelter in Sandoval County. What started as a grass roots effort of dedicated animal lovers has grown into the largest no kill animal shelter in New Mexico.
