About Us
Friends of Normie Rescue is a 501c(3) that focuses on rescuing as many abandoned cats and kittens as possible and using our resources to spay and neuter as many cats as we can.
It all started in 2020 when Friends of Normie founder Ladan Davia found a mother cat and six kittens on the side of the road. All of the shelters and rescues she called told her to leave them outside or they were at capacity. So Ladan went to the hardware store, bought a trap, and set up a makeshift shelter for the seven cats in her bathroom.
Through the local cat network Ladan connected with Marla, a rescuer with 25 years of experience. They rescued thousands of cats over the next two years, setting the foundation for what Friends of Normie is today. Without a physical facility, FON utilizes a network of committed volunteer fosters to give cats temporary, loving homes until adoption. Today we have 40+ foster homes rescuing cats from the streets and a team of volunteer trappers leading invaluable TNR efforts.
