About Us
Woodford Humane Society takes in all animals in need, regardless of their health, age, or breed. We never put a time limit on how long a pet can stay with us.
With no government funding, we rely solely on donations and private contributions to care for approximately 1,000 animals each year. We are proud to maintain a placement rate of 95% or higher – almost triple the national average.
If you visit Woodford Humane on any given day, you will meet 100-200 animals available for adoption and hoping to find their forever homes. Every pet is spayed or neutered, and receives all core vaccinations, de-worming, feline leukemia and FIV screening for cats, heartworm screening for dogs, and a free veterinary checkup following adoption. Adoptions Counselors are always on hand to help bring families and pets together. Our hardworking staff and volunteers ensure that all pets are comfortable, healthy, and happy during their stay, whether it lasts a few days, a few months, or a few years.
