Biokleen began in the 1980s, launched from one man’s awareness of the negative health and environmental impacts of toxin-rich cleaners. Jim Rimer was a sales executive for a chemical supply company when he grew disturbed at the harmful side effects that the current cleaning products caused. His attempts at implementing safety and educational trainings led to his firing, beginning a new path for Jim and soon an alternative line of natural and effective cleaning products. Biokleen began in Jim’s garage and became a family business when his daughter Cindy joined the team. Originally committed to providing plant-based, non-caustic cleaners for professional services and janitors, the company evolved to provide the same powerful formulas to homes across America. Biokleen remains family owned and operated, now in its second generation, where they continue to develop products free of chlorine, ammonia, petroleum solvents, butyl, glycol ether, optical brighteners, artificial colors and fragrances. Proudly made in the United States, all energy used in their facility is offset through purchased wind power credits and river water restoration. They believe and practice that a house free of toxins is a home full of love.
